To set up the tent, you need an axe, hammer, survival shovel, extra stakes and dust pans. Don’t forget to bring sleeping bags or you or your campmates may end up with an aching back.

It’s also good to pack pillows, extra blankets and air mattresses. Bring clothes that can be thrown on as layers to handle warmer days and cooler nights Plus it helps with packing space. An extra outdoor tent can shelter you from bad weather if you’re eating or playing.

Pack your toiletries. These are the things that we often forget since we think we always buy them at mini-stops and drugstores. But if you camp at places without stores, you’re in big trouble. Be prepared and bring some toilet paper, your toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towel, rags, feminine products, brush or comb and shampoo.

CampfiresWhen the sun goes down, make a campfires and enjoy the night. It’s a downer to find yourself sitting in the dark and sleeping early because you don’t know how to build a fire. To avoid that, bring a lantern, flashlight and waterproof matches. A fire extinguisher is a nice addition in case something goes wrong.
